Award-winning sculptor & metal artist, Diego Velazquez founded Santa Fe Metal Design in 2000. With a strong background in sculpture and metal work, he sees the world in aesthetic ways, visually as an artist and sculptor, and as an engineer of creative lighting and furniture.

He has used this vision to create the collection of lights available on this website. Materials of choice include copper, tin, steel, and mica, a naturally occurring mineral with a translucent quality. Using light as an additional medium is a constant source of inspiration for Diego and the artists at Santa Fe Metal Design. All the lights you see on our site are hand made in Diego’s studio in Santa Fe, New Mexico. Each light is finished with a hand-applied patina finish chosen by the customer.

A blend of strong architectural lines, contemporary and traditional styles finished with unique and vibrant patinas sets Santa Fe Metal lights apart from other lighting options available. All light fixtures are UL listed and can be customized to fit exactly your vision.
